Originally I trained as a joiner, after four year apprenticeship I served eight months as tradesperson, before being made redundant.
Looking for a change I studied sound production that led to going on to university to achieve a degree in audio technology with multi media.
After trying to get into music/media industry and being unsuccessful I had many different jobs - customer advisor, bra fitter, deli assistant, cleaner and bingo halls to name but a few but could never really find the ideal job for me.
I missed working as a joiner, knowing I had been out construction for a few years I was out of touch, I went back to college to refresh my skills and fell in love.
Restoring and up cycling furniture, seeing the process of saving old pieces of furniture or reupholstering, French polishing my love only grew more to learn more.
Through the years I've taught myself some other skills such as lampshades, needlepunch and more recently tufting, and designing my own fabric
I knew after finishing college that this is what I to do, The name came to me when I was falling asleep - Turnstyle kept going round my head. 2013 was the year I started college so 13 was a special number to me.
